Remember that first “big” investment you made in your business?
The first time I can remember feeling nervous about investing in my business was when I hired my first virtual assistant. It was scary for me because I couldn’t be certain whether I would even be able to bring in enough clients to cover the cost of my assistant. Yikes!
At the same time, I was also feeling a sense of responsibility to my new VA. I asked myself would working with me really be a “secure” position?
The truth of the matter is that was all just scarcity talk in my head. Investing in a VA was actually one of the BEST things I’ve done for my business. It gave me back time, energy, and headspace. As a result, I was better able to focus on making my clients’ experience even better AND bring in more clients as well.
Looking back, I realize that this was really a wonderful lesson in making uncomfortable spending decisions as a business owner. It was a growing pain I needed to go through to truly understand how to get into the mindset of being an entrepreneur. Even if you are scared, you need to make that next “big” investment if you want to grow.
Sometimes you gotta jump and then grow your wings on the way, right?
When it comes to branding, I hear business owners say things like:
“I can worry about my brand later, I just need to market my business first”
OR
“I’ll be ready for branding once I have more clients”
Do these statements remind you of a certain cart and horse analogy? 😊
I am teasing here but, at the same time, I can totally relate because I’ve said similar things too. In fact, most recently, I told myself that I couldn’t apply for speaking opportunities because I don’t have a speaker reel ready.
Yeah, right, Melissa! I think we all know THAT isn’t true.
But I digress…so, how about your brand? Are you serious about making it BETTER? Do you really want to wait for whatever “fill-in-the-blank” happens first?
My guess is that if you’ve been in business for at least a couple of years but haven’t really invested in your branding, you aren’t getting the traction you thought you would by now. Those marketing efforts just aren’t getting you enough, or the RIGHT types of clients.
The good news is that if you spend some quality time getting more clarity on your brand, you’ll:
• More deeply understand your audience and your uniqueness so that marketing becomes easier
• Discover ways to tweak your messaging and content so that you’ll gain your audience’s trust so that they will want to buy from you
• Understand what images and other visual assets will communicate and connect on a deeper level with your target audience so that trust develops even faster
You’ll also feel energized about your brand and more confident so that you will show up MORE and have a bigger impact when you do.
Doesn’t that sound like a great investment?
If you said, “yup” but aren’t really sure where to start, schedule a discovery call with me. We will talk through what challenges you’ve been having you’re your brand and what next steps you can take to overcome them.
