This morning I was given a gift and I want to share it with all of you, how two women’s missions will make a beautiful impact on children’s lives.
I am sharing this in hopes that it will inspire you as it has inspired me!
The backstory. . . I organized a meetup with two women I know who are not only brilliant and accomplished in their careers but are incredibly talented and compassionate people. Jessica is a neuroscientist who studies the effects of music on brain development and Melissa is a lifelong dancer and the founder of a very successful dance academy in the local area. The reason I wanted to bring them together was that I knew they had some similar interests and experiences, I thought they may be able to help each other out in some way.
As we got to talking, I realized they both have had some tremendous experiences. They have both overcome huge challenges in their lives and are now embarking on a new phase of their lives that is thrilling but also really scary. Despite the fears they have, they are 100% committed to following their new dreams and trusting in the path.
You see, they BOTH have a mission and are extremely passionate about it!
I could feel how passionate they are about what they want to accomplish. Their experiences and expertise have led them to this moment in their lives in which they are uniquely qualified to make a HUGE impact on the world. In their case, helping children heal from trauma, develop healthy brains and bodies and, ultimately, become well-adjusted adults.
That gift I was talking about before? Well, I realized that it is not often that you get to witness the beginnings of something truly great happening right in front of you. I could see them becoming household names and bringing so much joy back into people’s lives.
As I walked home in the freezing rain afterwards with my cold fingers clutching my umbrella, I was lost in thought about the amazing conversation we had. I was thinking that when these two women begin building a brand for themselves, they will quickly be able to help more and more people.
How powerful is that?
Yes, building an audience of people who love what you do is incredibly powerful. When you build that following, you build awareness of who you are and what you can do and THEN, you can affect big change in the world. You can help so many more people realize their own dreams.
While not all missions are this deeply profound, I am certain that each and every one of you have a mission that is just as important to you. I know it can be scary to follow that path, and perhaps scary to commit to building a personal brand to support that path, but I assure you, it’s the right way to go.
