I couldn’t believe I was about to quit my job. But here I was, sitting across from my boss, just about ready to say the words that would set me on a new path. Then he blurted out, “You are about to quit, aren’t you?”
Just like that, he stole my thunder! I couldn’t believe he guessed what I was about to say.
We had a good laugh about it and all at once I felt hopeful, optimistic, and FREE for the first time in many months.
But after many months as a full-time entrepreneur, all those positive feelings were waning. I was feeling stressed out, anxious about money, worried that I would have to go back to work for someone else again.
I needed help but I was also afraid to invest in that help. What if I hired the wrong people? Or worse, what if I didn’t make enough money to cover the cost of that help?
The thing is, I KNEW I was NEVER going to go back to my cubicle cage again and that meant I needed to treat my business like a business.
So, I started getting help, and guess what? I DID make a few hiring mistakes but I learned from those mistakes and have made changes to my team here and there.
Over time, what I realized is that I would never have achieved what I have in my business and with my brand if I didn’t have the support of my team. In fact, I likely would NEVER get there without it.
These days, the confidence I have in my business is worth every penny I have spent on my team over the years.
My 1st Goal: Re-branding
Since my first big goal for 2021 is MY re-brand, I’ll be making another big investment in my business. In order to discover and uncover parts of my brand that would be difficult or impossible for me to see on my own, l need the help of an unbiased brand strategist.
Although I help my own clients with their brand elements, trying to re-brand myself would be a little like trying to do brain surgery on myself. Wouldn’t work out that well in either case. 😊
Will this investment be worth it? Absolutely! My clients and my business are worth every penny!
