Branding Tips: 10 Business-Boosting Activities You Can Do Without Leaving the House – Part 1
You are probably getting tired of hearing about Coronavirus, I know, but I’ve been thinking about how nervous and scared business owners are feeling. I have had these feelings myself lately. But, as I was walking through the grocery store, trying to avoid people and not touch things (uggh, the shopping cart handle), it hit me like a watermelon. Sorry, had to throw in a grocery store reference – couldn’t help myself!
Anyway, it occurred to me that RIGHT NOW, entrepreneurs have a HUGE opportunity! Many of us small business owners use networking and speaking to meet new clients and collaborate with other business owners.
Now that events, meetups and conferences are getting cancelled left and right, we need to rely even MORE on technology to reach out and connect with our ideal clients virtually.
Think of it this way, take the hours that you would have spent on driving to and from and participating in networking events and allocate some of this time to:
Work on your branding, people!
How well do you really know your ideal client? How much of a handle do you have on what
makes you unique? If you have more than one type of service, have you created a brand
positioning statement for each? Do you know why you should? What does your website and social media say about you? Is it consistent across the board or do you need to adjust something? When would be a better time than this to go deeper and start creating or tweaking your brand elements. Better yet, get it done FASTER with the help of someone who specializes in branding like a brand strategist or visual brand expert. . . In fact, I’m offering my signature 90-Minute Brand Clarity video strategy sessions to help you gain clarity, get unstuck and elevate your brand right now. Grab a 15-minute call HERE to find

Do some market research!
Check in with your current and past clients. Get testimonials, ask them questions about what
value you bring them and what else you can do to help them through this difficult time with
your own BRAND of expertise. This has so many benefits! You’ll have some great quotes to use as testimonials on social media, on your website, in your offers, on your blog, in your newsletters, on your lead pages…I think you get the drift. Not only that, you may pick up some new business in the process!
Create an online course!
Have you been longing to create an online course but never seem to find the time? Now is the time to get started! Pull together your ideas and past content and create an outline for your course. Have you been blogging for a while? You probably have a LOT of content to pull from that has the makings of a great course. Do a little research to figure out which blog posts have gotten the most views and start digging down into those topics as part of your course. People buy courses to have a framework, help them with the application of the concepts, keep them on track, and to get help from an expert or a community that is taking the course too. Think about what framework YOU use to help your clients right now and brainstorm on how you can make that framework available for people virtually.

Pivot your offerings (temporarily)
If your service is typically done in person, brainstorm all the ways you can use your expertise to assist potential clients in a virtual way:
o Can you offer a mini-course on a topic that is always a stumbling block for your ideal client?
o What about a one-hour strategy session to help people through an issue very specific to them.
o If you typically give live presentations as part of your business, perhaps you can offer a
virtual live stream seminar that people can log into from home. When you have your new service in mind, reach out to the network you have already been building and let them know you have come up with a creative way to help them at this time. Send out a newsletter promoting your new virtual offering. Post across your social media channels about it. Heck, pick up the phone and call people! The thing is, while people are nervous and concerned at this time, most people want to move their lives forward and if you can serve them well remotely, you will be their first choice for your core line of offerings once things have calmed down in the world.
