Do you know what 5 images you must have for your business?
I’ve put together a list of the main images I feel every entrepreneur should have for their brand. This is NOT an exhaustive list, just a short list of the MOST important images you should have to get started.
Did you know that posts that include images produce 650% higher engagement than text only posts? Yup, images are the key to getting people to STOP scrolling and PAY ATTENTION to your content. So let’s get to it then…
Image #1
First and foremost, you NEED a professional headshot. No, you cannot use a selfie and no, you cannot use a photo with other people or one that you have strategically cropped to take out your husband or your dog or whomever. Just make the investment and get your headshot done by a reputable photographer who knows how to use lighting to make you look fantastic.
Oh, and then make sure to use that same headshot as your profile photo across all your social media channels so that there is no confusion that is YOU no matter where people go to find you.
Image #2
Create a high-quality horizontal image that can be used as the “hero” image on your website. It’s a fact that web designers complain that people don’t have enough horizontal images for their website.
For most service-based business, you can make this an image of you, you working with a “client” OR it could be an image of a client after they have experienced their “transformation” as a result of working with you.
Image #3
Based on what you think is the most important personality trait that connects you with your ideal client, create an image that shows off your personality. Perhaps you want people to know that you are a polished, professional but warm and welcoming. In this case, you can dress professionally but pose in a way that is more relaxed and open. The key here is being super intentional about CONNECTING with that client.
Image #4
Create an image that shows emotion. For example, a client of mine is a hypnotherapist who works with pregnant women to prepare them for their birthing day. The emotion she wants clients to feel is calm but confident.
We chose to photograph her walking her client through a set of meditation prompts and chose images that showed her client relaxed but with a confident smile on her face.
Image #5
Think about the little details. What is unique about what you do? Are there objects or what I call, the “tools of your trade”, that you can get close-ups of, perhaps with your hands (or feet, as the case may be) using those “tools”?
BONUS:
Create some “behind the scenes” images too! It’s a fact that people will feel closer to you if you show them that little peek behind the curtain of what you do in your business.
